Many items in Sims 4 are locked at the outset and can only be unlocked when your Sims reach a certain stage of their lives or accept a new job. This can make it more difficult to design the perfect life.
However, The Sims is known for the cheat codes it offers. In particular, there are two cheat codes that can unlock each item in the game for you.
Here’s how to use cheats to unlock all the items in The Sims 4.
How to unlock all items in The Sims 4
These methods apply to every version of The Sims 4, including PC, Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation.
First, open the command console. On a PC or Mac, press Ctrl + Shift + C or Command + Shift + C, respectively. On an Xbox or PlayStation, press all four shoulder buttons at once.
With the command console open, type and submit testingcheats true. This will enable all cheat codes going forward.
Enable cheats with the “testingcheats” code.
Next, we’ll type in the two cheat codes that unlock items. Type and submit:
bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement
bb.showliveeditobjects
Make sure that you type the cheats in correctly.
You can also type and submit bb.showhiddenobjects to unlock debug items that are usually inaccessible, like rocks and trees. But be careful — these items aren’t normally meant to be placed, so they can sometimes cause issues on your maps.
At this point, you will be able to find each item in the game in build mode. They still cost money, though, so be sure to save money — or use the parent mine cheat to earn 50,000 Simoleons immediately.
